Web Marketing Breaking News Google Gets Personalized
Posted October 1, 2005

You may have noticed a new addition to the home page of Google. Now, this has been in testing for a bit, but it has now gone live.

You must have a Google account in order to save your settings, which you should have anyway (to have a Google API code).

You can add top stories, bookmarks, weather, quote of the day, etc. to your Google Search Page.

While most of the options seem sort-of primative compared to other portals, but because you are starting with essentially a blank page, it truly allows you to personalize the page and not allow your personalization to get lost in the "noise".
