Look to International Markets for E-Commerce
by Kelley Boren
The Web is set for a boom in increased sales revenues
in the United Kingdom, according to a survey conducted
by NOP in the second quarter of 1999, conducted for
co-sponsors Ziff-Davis, Dell, KPMG and Intel.
The survey discovered that two million (or 24 percent)
of the UK's 8.2 million Web users are already online
shoppers, with 93 percent of online shoppers intending
to either spend more or the same amount online in
the next 12 months.
Users complain that many companies make buying over
the Web unnecessarily difficult, by delaying the uptake
of e-commerce transactions.
Greater acceptance of online trade hinges on issues
of convenience, brand confidence and online brand
values. A critical success factor is the commitment
on the part of site owners and e-tailers to enhance
the shopping experience.
Simple Web navigation, pricing transparency and richness
of site content are all vital elements in winning
and retaining customers in the online environment.
With international e-tailing becoming an unstoppable
force, it is time for every company to look at new
ways to help international buyers make their purchases.
When it comes to tapping into international markets
through the Web, your choice should be with an e-Commerce
company who has technology you won't outgrow.
When it comes to investing in your business on-line,
you want a company that is not only reliable, but
has technology to meet your future needs. The last
thing you want is to change providers in a year because
you outgrew your provider. For more information, send
