Note: If you are looking for a comprehensive list of Meta Tags and how to use them in your pages properly, please see our comprehensive article: Meta Tags Explained.
Okay, this is one of the worst "tips" out there floating around and it concerns the Revisit After META tag. This tag is not supported by any major search engine. From my research It was developed for a smaller, local search engine years ago.
The Meta Revisit After tag looks like this:
<meta name="revisit-after" content=" 30 days ">
This is the correct syntax for the META revisit-after and in the above example, the search engine would return to index the site again in 30 days. Now, do you REALLY believe a major search engine would ever obey such a request? They don't. They do things on their terms not yours.
If you want the major engines to return to your site more often, just simply improve your link popularity. The more links you have to your site the more often the search engines will find your site to reindex it as they spider the web. Back to Meta Tags Explained & Uncovered.
